Who We Are
DEM (Aust) Pty Ltd is a Sydney-based design practice with extensive experience shaping cities, communities, and places across Australia and globally. Drawing upon decades of collective expertise, the firm is committed to delivering projects of exceptional quality that exemplify design excellence, operational efficiency, and lasting community value.
Our History
DEM evolved from one of Australia’s most enduring architectural practices. Founded in 1962 as Devine Erby Mazlin, the practice built a reputation over three decades for design excellence across a wide range of building types. In 1990, recognising that the best design outcomes come from integrated thinking, the business expanded to bring interior design and landscape architecture in-house.
In 1998, the practice restructured and relaunched as DEM (Aust) Pty Ltd, under a leadership team that continues to guide the business today. More than 60 years after its establishment, DEM has evolved into an internationally recognised, award-winning design practice, maintaining the same commitment to quality and design excellence that has always defined the company.
