Interior Designer

The Position

We are looking for a talented Interior Designer to join our DEM design team.

DEM is a multi-disciplinary practice bringing the opportunity to collaborate across a range of interiors, architectural, landscape and urban design projects.

This is an excellent career opportunity for someone who has a willingness to learn and show initiative. DEM has a culture of fostering staff development, and we provide a range of in-house and on the job skill improvement opportunities. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and team player, who enjoys a diversity of project work and close interaction and collaboration with our other design disciplines.

Who are we looking for:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture or equivalent

  • 5+ years local post-graduate experience

  • High proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Excellent design, communication, both written and verbal communication skills

  • A comprehensive understanding of the design and delivery of interiors projects from initiation though to completion

  • Experience with commercial interior design projects is required

  • Time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities  

  • Clear communication, comprehension, and organisational skills

  • Willingness to learn and show initiative where possible

Revit Technician - Draftsman (Architecture)

The Position

We are looking for a motivated and talented REVIT Technician - Draughtsman with 8+ years local experience to join our Chatswood office to work on a range of engaging projects within our architectural division.

   

This is a career opportunity for the right candidate, that will allow you to work with all levels of DEM Management and other experienced project Architects. Applicants must have commitment to quality design and documentation, creativity, good communication and organisational skills and be willing to demonstrate initiative and the potential to grow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with Directors, Associates and the BIM management team in model production, documentation, and detailing of our projects.

  • Ability to undertake Project BIM Lead role on a variety of projects.

  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for project deadlines and project performance.

  • Ability to provide junior team member direction and collaborate with the project team and other teams in a wider capacity.

  • Undertake production documentation of projects using REVIT and or other CAD software.

You will be required to demonstrate that you have:
  • Minimum 8+ years of REVIT experience to demonstrate the high-level skills needed for this position.

  • Applicants must hold either a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or a Diploma in Architectural Drafting.

  • Ability to conform to specified drafting standards.

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

  • Proven experience in production documentation, modelling and detailing.

  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of the job.

  • Clear communication, comprehension, and organisational skills.

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.

  • A working knowledge of the BCA, relevant Australian Standards and typical local authority requirements.
