Master plan for a contemporary sustainable city precinct incorporating scientific development, commerce, office space and residential areas.

DEM developed the masterplan concept for Stage 2 of the Qingdao Science and Technology Park which incorporates office and headquarter precincts as well as high-rise and low density residential areas and a commercial and retail component.

The concept design provides strong connectivity and permeable pedestrian access to surrounding developments to encourage neighbouring residents to use the retail facilities.

Parkland is utilised to create a community focus for the development and a geometric road structure provides a strong identity for the site. Buildings are orientated to maximise solar access to the south.
