One of the major factors that influenced the design of this property was that it captured 270 degree water views of  Wamberal Lagoon and the ocean. This meant that large spans of glazing were utilised in the project; however, due to   bushfire and energy requirements, careful consideration of building materials was also essential. A bushfire defence system was installed, with the use of a sprinkler system located on the roof, as well as above each of the windows. In addition, as it was located on the cliff top at Spoon Bay Beach, this home required high quality building materials that could endure wind, salt and sand.
