DEM collaborated with Macquarie University stakeholders including the Faculty Dean, Professors and Lecturers to establish and develop a brief for a new learning and teaching Financial Laboratory as part of DEM’s developed large scale masterplan for the Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE).

 

The Lab is designed to allow for the analysis of financial data and is broken down into four areas including, a syndicate area, an open plan collaborative space, incubation area which allows for flexible arrangements of loose furniture, and a new audio and visual interactive entry.

The Lab included the adaptive re-use of an existing office area into a new open teaching area with views onto the ground level courtyard. A new glazed façade creates a vibrant new connection to the outside.
