Bank Negara Primary Data Centre
Cyberjaya, Malaysia
DEM, with Malaysian partner ATSA Architects, was appointed to design the new data centre for Malaysia’s Central Bank, Bank Negara. The brief was to produce a 6,000 m² Tier IV Data Centre to ‘World’s Best Standards’. The facility located in Cyberjaya, close to Kuala Lumpur, was designed to be highly secure and able to withstand ‘natural and intentional’ disruption or destruction. The building design features dual power, water and gas feeds to the site, N+1 redundancy to both mechanical and electrical services and the latest in security planning and external threat engineering.
DEM was the lead design consultant coordinating the work of service engineers, and security and bomb blast consultants to ensure the building has maximum resilience and redundancy.
