DigiCo SYD1 Data Centre Expansion

Ultimo, Sydney

Vertical expansion and internal reconfiguration of the existing DigiCo SYD1 data centre at 400 Harris Street, Ultimo.
The development responds to escalating demand in the digital economy and will increase the service capacity of the SYD1 campus to 88MW.
DigiCo SYD1 Data Centre - DEM

DEM was commissioned to provide architectural, urban design and landscape architectural services for this hyperscale data centre project, located on the edge of the Sydney CBD, which received State Significant development approval in December 2025.

The design adds two levels and expands plant and electrical space by rationalising existing internal floor space, thereby intensifying the existing data centre. Augmentation of the power supply further enables integration of advanced technologies and optimisation of energy efficiency.

The latest design for the additions to the SYD1 campus builds upon DEM’s long term vision for the Harris Street site and works in seamlessly with the original DEM designs for the Sydney East and Sydney West data centre buildings, maintaining the architectural integrity of the existing campus. The building design also ensures that visual impacts from Darling Harbour, the Sydney CBD and neighbouring residential properties are minimised.
