143 Avoca Drive, Avoca Beach

This Hamptons style home was designed specifically to create easy flow between all areas of the home and given its beachfront position, direct access from the lush lawn to the sand. The home has a grand stature and appearance,  synonymous with a home of this type.

44 North Avoca Parade, North Avoca

This stunning light filled beach home showcases the breathtaking outlook of the ocean. It combines white walls with lime wash timber features giving it the classic beach house feel. High roofs and open rooms enhance the sense of grand space, whilst being a family home that is warm and inviting.

12 Bulbararing Road, North Avoca

The challenge with this project was the steepness of the site. The objective of the design was to create a home that would be practical, whilst minimising excavation. The garage and the entry level required 3m retaining walls with suspended concrete slabs; by doing this the 3rd and 4th levels only required timber bearers and joist. The client also wished to maximise ocean views and the only way to do this was to design all of the living areas on the upper two levels. Given the fact that it was a four storey design, the incorporation of a lift was needed for easy access to each of the levels. Glass was used on the upper level lift shaft, so that views to the ocean were maximized upon arrival in the lift.

35 Vicary Rd, Terrigal

The location for this project was 2.5 picturesque acres in Terrigal. This contemporary Japanese style home exemplifies the many benefits of indoor/outdoor living. The home features a 17m wet edge pool and a sunken outdoor lounge surrounded by water. All of the water features in the home are linked, running beneath two suspended glass floors within the home. The multiple living areas within the linking pavilions provide easy access to the pool and entertaining areas and capture the beautiful valley views, along with solar access. The design incorporates slate roofing, hardwood timber cladding, white pool tiling and other luxury finishes.

3 Spoon Bay Road, Forresters Beach

One of the major factors that influenced the design of this property was that it captured 270 degree water views of Wamberal Lagoon and the ocean. This meant that large spans of glazing were utilised in the project, however due to bushfire and energy requirements, careful consideration of building materials was also essential. A bushfire defence system was installed, with the use of a sprinkler system located on the roof, as well as above each of the windows. In addition, as it was located on the cliff top at Spoon Bay Beach, this home required high quality building materials that could endure wind, salt and sand.

81 Bluebell Drive, Wamberal

The design for this dwelling required alteration and addition to an existing house.

The client’s brief was to utilise as much of the single storey dwelling as possible, in order to minimise costs. The floor plan of the home was reconfigured and a second storey created with an additional lounge, outdoor entertaining area, 2 bedrooms, bathroom and master suite. The client also stipulated that they wanted to enjoy the benefits of indoor/outdoor living with beautifully landscaped gardens. The resultant garden was voted a residential award winning garden in the LNA Master Landscapers Association awards.

53 Erina Valley Road, Erina

This home features passive design elements and sustainable methods of construction. Products used have low embodied energy and are compatible with ecologically sustainable development. Linking pavilions have perfect north aspect and there is significant use of double glazed glass in the design to allow for passive day lighting and heating. In all of the living areas windows are positioned to promote cross flow ventilation. Calga White sandstone, used as feature walls throughout the house, was sourced locally, minimising need for transport. Solar panels, positioned on the roof, produce approximately 26kw of power per day. A 160,000 litre concrete rain water tank provides enough water to service the entire house and pool.
