A vision developed by DEM for the Martin Place Shopping Circle, a transitional space forming part of an underground pedestrian corridor between Martin Place Station and the MLC Shopping Centre.
‘The Carousel’:
created a drawcard destination for convenience shopping;
reflected the movement and activity intrinsic to its location;
provided for the transient and short term usage of space;
provided efficient links to and from transport and Martin Place; and
incorporated materials that reflected its value as a contemporary public space in Sydney’s CBD.
